North Mid-Atlantic Sports Media is a sideline videography and photography crew, given a badge built to survive the gear it lives on and to sit in the corner of every frame it shoots.
A sports media outfit is judged on the field, where its branding shows up on gear in bad light, at distance and in motion. Most of what NMA delivers is footage and stills of somebody else's team, so the mark also has to sit in frame without competing with the play.
Built a circular badge around an interlocking NMA monogram with a lens and a lightning bolt worked into the letterforms — the shooting and the speed stated before anyone reads the name — set in orange and charcoal so it holds on black equipment and through a long lens, then stripped to a single glyph for watermarks, lower thirds and a profile picture the size of a thumbnail.
One mark from the wrapped broadcast lens to the hard case to the sideline jacket, and on every reel and gallery that leaves the camera — the photography, the video and the brand now read as the same crew.
